December 1, 2020 – Mississauga, Ontario – MBOT Waives Membership fees for Mississauga’s Hospitality Sector
The Board of Directors of the Mississauga Board of Trade (MBOT) approved a motion to support Mississauga businesses decimated by COVID restrictions. “Our Board of Trade has been extremely vocal about the devastating impacts of restrictions on restaurants, hotels and banquet halls” said David Wojcik, CEO of MBOT. “The board’s decision to waive membership fees for companies in this sector signals that MBOT is prepared to Walk the Talk.” MBOT founded the Mississauga Economic Recovery Group (MERG) to identify what can be done to create four pillars of support. To increase advocacy, revenues, cost controls and access to capital for Mississauga companies. The recommendation to waive fees was made by MERG to the MBOT Board. “We are delighted by the board’s unanimous approval to support our recommendation” says Ellen McGregor, Chair of MERG. “I hope the move plants a seed in the minds of other Mississauga CEO’s to ask what they can do to help businesses so utterly affected by COVID”.
MERG – Founded by MBOT to unite Mississauga business for a thriving Mississauga, MERG is led by seasoned business professionals to gather data and recommend actions to MBOT for the betterment of the Mississauga economy.
