Small retailers are struggling with the rules of physical distancing and keeping customers and staff safe. 16 major retail and restaurant chains have filed for bankruptcy protection south of the border and in Canada, the number is 19. Names like The Gap, Rona, Lowes, Zellers, Holt Renfew. Now while all 19 are not seeking bankruptcy protection in Canada, they have significant store closings.
