Who are you and what is your role at MBOT?
My name is Ted Morgan and I am the owner of SpeedPro Signs and Imaging. As well as a member, I am an ambassador with the Board of Trade. As an ambassador to all MBOT membership, we take care of the live events – or for the last 10 months, the Zoom events such as Membership Matters, Good Morning Mississauga etc.  We give the staff a break and MC those events.

At live events, we also act as people’s ‘person Friday’. We help connect members and help MBOT staff when needed.

Tell me more about your business.
Located in Etobicoke, SpeedPro Signs and Imaging is a one stop shop for visual marketing. We design print and install visual marketing images for small to medium sized businesses. It could be a restaurant, any type of store-front, electrified signs, vehicle wraps, trade show displays – all the components a business needs to move forward with their visual marketing.

How did you learn about MBOT and when did you become a member?
I knew about MBOT way before I joined, but I didn’t know anything about its role in terms of networking and how it could help my business. I had joined a BIA first and then believe it or not, my accountant recommended to me to look into MBOT. I became a member in November 2013, and it wasn’t long before I became an ambassador.

What is your favourite aspect of MBOT?
My favourite part is the people – the friendships I’ve made, the business connections. I’ve meet nice people, like David Shaw and Paul Hainer, and all kinds of other people who have become dear friends. It’s been fun that way and helps me to keep coming back.

What would you say to someone who is unsure of joining MBOT?
If connecting with other business people and different types of businesses is for you, then I would highly recommend. MBOT is only as good as you make it. If you’re willing to get involved and use the events to meet people you want to meet, then MBOT is for you.
